Hybrid SD Carriage

These new carriages offer an incredibly easy upgrade path for any previous users of Glidetrack SD Series products or any other system that uses Igus 10-40 series rail. Building on the hugely successful launch of the Glidetrack HD Hybrid series, we are happy to now release the SD Hybrid carriage. In addition to the traditional Drylin self-lubricating liners, the new SD Hybrid carriage runs on eight self lubricating, dry running roller bearings. As a result, The Glidetrack Hybrid SD Carriage requires 4-5 times less force to move than the traditional Drylin liners. Typical roller bearing systems (as featured in competing products) use grease filled noisy metal bearings. These style of bearings can be adversely affected by dust, dirt, grit lint and moisture, which can significantly affect their performance, and limit the number of environments that they can reliably be used in. Should they become contaminated, disassembling/cleaning and re-adjusting them is no easy task. By comparison, the Glidetrack SD Hybrid Slider has an open architecture design, that uses individual, greaseless self lubricating plastic bearings and liners that can quickly and easily be swapped out, cleaned if necessary, and replaced by the user. On more expensive competing products, the bearings are either difficult to get at, non user serviceable, or, require the full unit to be returned to the manufacturer for replacement/repair.
